Safety, dry-run and pause

Tidelist is built so that it cannot surprise you. The safety rules are part of the free plugin, and add-ons cannot bypass them.
What does dry-run do?
In dry-run, Tidelist builds every advert and writes what it would send to the log, but it sends nothing that changes OLX. Reading data, such as the category list or the status of your adverts, still works. Dry-run is on when you install the plugin, and you switch it off yourself in Settings.
The safety rules
- Dry-run on by default. You switch it off by typing LIVE.
- Pause switch. Pause everything stops every call to OLX at once. Resume when you are ready.
- Typed confirmation. Publishing needs the word PUBLISH, for at most 30 adverts at a time.
- Allow-list. The plugin may only make the requests it needs: reading, creating, updating, activating and deactivating adverts. Purchases, deleting and messaging are blocked in code.
- Rate limits. A local limit keeps the plugin far below OLX’s limit. If OLX asks it to slow down, it waits.
- Encrypted credentials. Client ID, Client Secret and access tokens are stored encrypted in your database.
What Tidelist never does
- It never buys a package or pays OLX. If OLX asks for payment, Tidelist stops.
- It never deletes an advert.
- It never publishes without your confirmation.
- It never changes your WooCommerce prices.
The log
Tidelist log records every call to OLX, every blocked or simulated request and every settings change. Secrets are never logged. Entries older than 90 days are deleted automatically.
Frequently asked questions
How do I switch dry-run off?
In Settings, untick the dry-run box and type LIVE in the confirmation field. Until then nothing that changes OLX is sent.
